In a significant decision for the support and development of initiatives aimed at the well-being and inclusion of children and adolescents, the Municipal Fund for the Rights of Children and Adolescents (FMDCA) and the Municipal Council for the Rights of Children and Adolescents (CMDCA) of São Vicente approved financing of R$ 100 thousand for the Equo Caparnaum project.
The partnership between the institutions was formalized on Thursday (27), in the main hall of the Municipal Palace. The event was attended by Mayor Kayo Amado, the Secretary of Human Rights and Citizenship and president of the municipality's CMDCA, Jackson Nunes, and State Representative Solange Freitas, as well as representatives from nine other institutions benefiting from the financing, which totals 1 million of reals.
The Equo Capernaum Project
Equo Capernaum is an initiative dedicated to promoting equine therapy, a therapy that uses horses as a therapeutic means for the biopsychosocial development of people with disabilities and special needs. Equine therapy is recognized for its comprehensive benefits, which include improvements in motor coordination, balance, muscular strength, as well as psychological and emotional benefits such as increased self-esteem and confidence.
Importance of Financing
The financing of R$ 100 thousand approved by the FMDCA and CMDCA represents a crucial advance for Equo Capernaum, allowing the expansion of the services offered and the care of a greater number of children and adolescents. With these resources, the project will be able to invest in infrastructure, acquisition of new equipment, training of professionals and maintenance of animals, ensuring the quality and continuity of therapeutic care.
The CMDCA and FMDCA Decision
The approval of financing was the result of a careful analysis and evaluation process carried out by the CMDCA and FMDCA, which considered the positive impacts of Equo Capernaum on the local community. The decision reflects the institutions' commitment to promoting actions that ensure the rights and full development of children and adolescents in São Vicente.
Community Impact
The project plays a crucial role in promoting social inclusion. Through equine therapy sessions, children interact with their peers and the community, reducing the stigma associated with disabilities. Furthermore, CMDCA funding also provides support to the families of the children served. Access to often expensive therapies is made easier, easing the financial burden on families and allowing them to focus on their children's holistic development.
The impact of financing goes beyond the individual and family. The Capernaum Equine Therapy Center becomes a point of reference in the community, promoting events and activities that raise awareness about the needs of children and adolescents with disabilities. This strengthens community ties and fosters an environment of cooperation and solidarity.
Next steps
With the release of resources, Equo Caparnaum plans to begin a series of improvements and expansions. Among the plans are the construction of a new riding trail, the hiring of more specialized professionals and the implementation of training programs for employees. These improvements are expected to be implemented in the coming months, allowing a significant increase in the number of services provided.
Conclusion
The approval of financing of R$100,000 for Equo Cafarnaum by the FMDCA and CMDCA of São Vicente is an important milestone in promoting the rights and well-being of children and adolescents in the city. This investment not only strengthens equine therapy as a therapeutic tool, but also reinforces the commitment of municipal institutions to supporting projects that make a difference in the life of the community.
